Immunity Shots

Our Go-To Immunity Shot, Rooted in Warming Herbs

In our home, herbs are a way of life. They’re not something we reach for only when we’re already run down—they’re part of how we care for our bodies day by day. As a mama of six and an herbalist who grows and prepares healing plants, I’ve learned that consistency matters more than complexity.

This immunity shot is one I make year after year, especially as the seasons change. It’s warming, stimulating, and deeply supportive—made with ingredients that herbalists have trusted for generations.

Rather than trying to “force” the body into doing something, this blend works by encouraging circulation, warmth, and balance. It supports the body’s natural defenses while also tending digestion and overall vitality.

Why I Love This Immunity Shot

It’s warming and circulatory
Ginger, cayenne, cinnamon, and cloves all bring warmth to the body. In herbalism, warmth supports movement—of blood, lymph, and energy—especially when the body feels sluggish or burdened.

It supports digestion, which supports immunity
Apple cider vinegar and ginger gently stimulate digestion, helping the body better absorb nutrients and eliminate what it no longer needs.

It’s simple and shelf-stable
This recipe keeps well in the refrigerator and can be made in batches, which is essential in a busy household.

It honors traditional plant wisdom
Every ingredient in this recipe has a long history of use in folk and traditional herbalism, making it a beautiful example of simple, time-tested care.
